VCSS is currently accepting applications for the position of Parent Partner. This half time position will work with the new ACT Team at the Nevada County office. Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, this position is responsible for providing advocacy, coaching, support, and counseling to parents and youths involved in an exciting new program which serves youth with mental illness involved in the juvenile justice system.

Typical Responsibilities:

Assist parents and youth to take advantage of the services offered by the ACT Team and help others.
Assist and support families with their emotions, stress, and relationships.
Assist clients to plan and carry our leisure time activities and hobbies.
Provide practical help and mentoring, advocacy, coordination, side-by-side individualized support, problem solving and direct assistance to help parents and family members of identified youth obtain the necessities of daily living.

Essential Requirements

1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Valid CA Drivers license
3. Experience working with youth or families (experience as a consumer in the human services system may substitute for professional experience with you and families)
