Under the direct supervision of the Special Education Teacher, the
Instructional Aide is responsible for the care and supervision of
severely emotionally disturbed students. The Aide is responsible
for implementing school curriculum, behavior management systems,
and day treatment plan.
Essential Requirements:
1. Must be physically and mentally fit to work with potentially
violent severely emotionally disturbed children in accordance with
the Agency’s Physical and Mental Fitness Standards Personnel
Policy.
2. Must possess a valid CA driver’s license, and driving record
that meets the agency standards outlined in the Agency’s Personnel
Policy; Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
3. Must be capable of obtaining a Red Cross First Aid/CPR card.
4. Must be willing to work with a culturally integrated workplace,
and be willing to respect human differences.
5. Must have 48 college units.
Desired Requirements:
1. Prior experience working with severely emotionally disturbed
children.
2. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Starting Wage:
$9.00-11.35 hour depending on experience and education.
