  Special Education Teacher

Under the direct supervision of the Principal, the Special Education Teacher is responsible for the overall management of a special education classroom . The Special Education Teacher manages and implements the school curriculum; supervises Instructional Aides & Day Treatment Counselors. The Teacher is responsible for complete follow through of the Individual Education Plan from the placing school district.

Desired Requirements:

  1. Prior Supervisory experience in the human services field.
  2. Prior experience teaching emotionally disturbed children.
Essential Requirements:

  1. California Learning Handicapped or Severely Handicapped Teaching credential from an accredited university.
  2. Must be physically and mentally fit to work with potentially violent, severely emotionally disturbed children in accordance with the Agency’s Physical and Mental Fitness Standards Personnel Policy.
  3. Must possess a valid CA driver’s license, and driving record that meets the agency standards outlined in the Agency’s Personnel Policy; Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
  4. Must be willing to work with a culturally integrated workplace, and be willing to respect human differences.
