Under the direct supervision of the designated Residential Services Supervisor, the Residential Counselor is responsible for the care and supervision of severely emotionally disturbed children assigned to the facility in accordance with the mandates of public law, state regulations and Agency operating plans
.Duties may vary depending on specific shift/position applying for.
Desired Requirements:
- Prior residential care experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children.
- A Bachelor’s
degree from an accredited university, or working towards a degree.
Essential Requirements:
- Must be physically and mentally fit to work with potentially violent severely emotionally disturbed children in accordance with the Agency’s Physical and Mental Fitness standards Personnel Policy.
- Must possess a valid CA driver’s license, and driving record that meets the agency standards outlined in the Agency’s Personnel Policy; Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
- Must be capable of obtaining a Red Cross First Aid/CPR card.
- Must be willing to work with a culturally integrated workplace, and be willing to respect human differences.
