Under the direction of the Executive Director of Information Technology
the Information Technology Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining
corporate office workstations, servers, video conference, and telecommunications
infrastructure for the Victor Family of Services.
Essential Requirements:
• • Must have advanced level knowledge of PC hardware
and software operations and applications.
• Must have a current Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer/Microsoft
Certified Information Technology Professional and must maintain
this level of certification as new Server OS are established.
• Must have an A+ certification.
• Must have a Network+ certification.
• Must have current Desktop Operating Systems certification.
• Must have three to five years experience administering Microsoft
SQL Server or current certification in Microsoft SQL Server.
• Must be willing to complete a health screening physical
examination that includes a drug screen.
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license,
and driving record that meets the standards outlined in the Agency’s
Personnel Policy; Motor Vehicle Operating Standards. Must possess
personal automobile insurance consistent with the standard outlined
in the Agency’s Personnel Policy; Motor Vehicle Operating
Standards.
• Must be willing to complete a personal background investigation
conducted by the State of California and must meet California Community
Care Licensing standards for employment according to Title 22, Division
6, Chapter 5, Section 84064 of the regulations.
• Must possess basic knowledge of the English language and
have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in technology, management, or a
business related field of study.
• Ten plus years experienced in network/server administration
• Two to five years experience with video conferencing technologies.
Daily Responsibilities:
• Assures the efficient operation of corporate office computers
and makes recommendations to the Executive Director of Information
Technology regarding repairs, upgrades, and purchases of hardware
and software.
• Maintains supports, troubleshoots, and expands the existing
network infrastructure, centralized applications, and telecommunications
network under the direction of the Executive Director of Information
Technology.
• Serves as the primary contact for Information Systems Technicians
and corporate office users to clarify problems and provide resolution,
if possible. Consults with the Executive Director of Information
Technology or Agency consultant(s) as needed for problem resolution.
• Designs, documents, analyze, creates, tests, implements,
and maintains an organized and efficient Active Directory model.
• In collaboration with the Executive Director of IT, establishes,
implements, and supports the policies and procedures developed for
the Information Technology Department.
• Provides intellectual and creative solutions for the Agency-wide
technology plan and additional business needs as they surface.
• Implements the Agency-wide technology plan in collaboration
with and under the direction of the Executive Director of Information
Technology.
• Serves as the Peer Review leader and facilitator of the
peer review process co-created, periodically reviewed, and maintained
by the Information Technology Team.
• Maintains inventory of all Agency software and equipment.
Ensures software and hardware are appropriately secured.
• In collaboration with the Executive Director of IT, ensures
adequate software licensing systems are in place.
• Completes or assigns all tasks as assigned by the Chico
Office Services Manager.
• Demonstrates effective and efficient communications with
management staff and program Information Systems Technicians.
• Assures video conferencing technology equipment is working
efficiently and effectively for the corporate office.
• Provides direction and support to the Information Systems
Technician(s) as needed.
• Consults with end users and independent contractors to establish
and maintain minimum hardware and software requirements for annually
updating the agency technology plan.
• Administers Barracuda SPAM Firewall and Websense Server.
• Administers Backup Exec Server software to ensure daily
incremental backups are being preformed and serves as the coordinator
for storing and rotating weekly full tape backups off-site.
