| Throughout
Butte County, VCSS provides a wide array of community based
mental health and family support services. We work in close
partnership with the Butte County Department of Behavioral
Health to address the mental health needs of children and
their families. Our services are highly individualized and
are provided from a strength-based, family centered philosophy.
Our programs include:
School
Based/Home Based Mental Health Services- Partnering
with schools through out the county, Mental Health professionals
provide individual, group and family therapy, rehabilitative
services, medication support, and collateral services both
in the schools and in the homes of children experiencing emotional
and behavioral difficulties..
Therapeutic
Behavior Services- FICS staff provide a 1:1
relationship with a child offering behavior management skills
training, anger management, parenting skills enhancement,
and coaching to empower parents to preserve their family and
prevent higher level placements
Regional
Center Services- We provide wraparound family
support and adaptive skills training for children with developmental
disabilities and behavioral difficulties.
Each
of our services shares common goals and a treatment philosophy
grounded in the belief that children are often best served
in their families and communities. Thus, our services:
Focus
on family strengths, and involve all family members and stakeholders
in creative problem solving.
Deliver flexible, multi-disciplinary services utilizing a
wrap-around service philosophy and are integrated with county
systems of care.
Prevent out-of-home placements and placement disruptions.
These programs are designed to assist youth in their home
or school placements, and to divert children from out-of home
care.
Transition children out of residential care into family settings.
We
are highly committed to working with our community partners
to develop whatever services are needed to enable children
and their families to develop the strengths and resources
they need to thrive in the community in which they live.
