Shiloh Ride The goal of SHILOH RIDE is to create an environment of success for children with severe emotional disorders at North Valley School through the use of equine facilitated therapy. In order to obtain this goal, students will work with horses to increase self-esteem and self-worth by learning responsibility through grooming, cleaning, shoeing, and independent riding. By having students learn how to care about and be responsible for the horses, they also learn how to care about and take responsibility for themselves. This helps to increase their feelings of self-worth and self-esteem. With the increase of the feeling of self-worth, the students will have the opportunity to be more successful and build more feelings of self-confidence and self-respect. |
