San Bernardino FICS
(Family Intervention and Community Support)

San Bernardino FICS is one of the newest programs being developed by Victor Community Support Services, Inc. Family Intervention and Community Support Programs (FICS), statewide, have been on the forefront of developing a wide range of individualized, family centered, strength-based services preventing family disruptions and out-of-home placement. Our Wraparound service philosophy has assisted families in benefiting from multiple agency involvement and an increase in interagency collaboration by partnering with local community agencies, departments of mental health, social services, probation and schools, to develop a broad continuum of community-based treatment services. These services have enabled many children to remain "at home, in school and out of trouble". We are highly committed to building on the strengths of children, their families and the communities we serve so that children can live and grow up in normalized family settings.

Intensive Family Services

Providing innovative and specialized community based mental health treatment services, the Desert Mountain Intensive Family Services program operates from a Wraparound service philosophy and does "whatever it takes" to keep children safely at home with their families. This is a highly flexible multi-disciplinary, multi-agency treatment model. These services are very intensive and individualized to meet the needs of families. The program provides an alternative to inpatient psychiatric
hospitalization offering highly structured 24-hour crisis response. Working in close collaboration with County Mental Health, FICS provides rapid crisis response and stabilization services to families. This program effectively links families to necessary community resources to reduce the risk of placement into residential facilities and assist with the transition home after residential care.

Therapeutic Behavior Services
TBS is a one-to-one relationship with a child offering intensive, home-based behavior management services. Interventions include skills training, anger management, and coaching to empower parents to regain control of their family. These services are offered to eligible children to help maintain their current level of placement or to assist in the transition to a lower level of care.
