The area affords many opportunities for diverse cultural and recreational
outings. The Pacific Ocean beaches, the San Bernardino mountain
resorts, museums, world-famous amusement parts, cultural fairs and
exhibits, and local sports events are some of the resources that
are used to expand our clients' abilities to enjoy leisure activities
and improve their social skills. Victor Children's Services serves
36 emotionally disturbed youngsters in six residential RCL-14 homes.
Victor Children's Services specializes in serving youth who have
a history of abuse, neglect, and multiple placement failures. Our
program provides a stable, structured, and nurturing atmosphere
which affords the children the opportunity to learn and grow new
behavioral and life skills while being valued and protected. Our
goal is to help children develop self-esteem, self-respect, and
a sense of responsibility with control over the direction and quality
of their lives.

A Sense of Vision . . .
Eagle Valley School is a state certified non-public school serving
the academic needs of severely emotionally disturbed children. It
provides a self-contained academic setting to ensure that its student
can develop the necessary social, personal, and academic skills
to successfully move to a less restrictive setting.
Within this academic setting students participate in vocational
training programs, a variety of recreational activities, and day
treatment rehabilitation services that are geared towards meeting
the specific social, personal and academic needs of children.
The day treatment rehabilitation program integrates a comprehensive
special education program with an intensive mental health treatment
component within the setting of our state certified non-public school.
This program consists of mental health clinicians, psychiatrists,
and day rehabilitation counselors working as a team with the special
education teachers to create an individualized educational and treatment
curriculum that meets the specific needs of each student. These
specialized programs are geared toward equipping each student with
the necessary skills needed to allow the children to pursue their
long-term goals and aspirations.

A Sense of Commitment . . .
Paramount in the Victor Children's Services/Eagle Valley School
philosophy is the belief that mental health clients should be treated
in the least restrictive community-based setting possible.
Most children and adolescents referred to our facilities have had
numerous treatment, placement and school failures. So numerous,
in fact, that if not for our programs, they would be sent to a locked
psychiatric setting.
For over three decades we have been learning and exploring new approaches
and developing a program of encouragement, support, understanding,
love and limits.
Our commitment is to SED children. We are determined to keep working
with the client no matter how difficult and challenging the child
is.
We believe that it takes very special people, with extraordinary
talent, training, patience, and love to work with these children
and adolescents.
We have made that commitment.
We believe we have a responsibility to go to extraordinary lengths
to engage the child and family as full partners in the treatment
of the child.
