Marysville FICS Overview
Family Intervention and Community Support

Sutter-Yuba FICS provides a wide variety of community-based mental health services to children and their families in both Sutter and Yuba Counties. Services are provided in partnership with local education, probation, and social service agencies. Services are predominately funded by the bi-county Sutter-Yuba Mental Health Department. A strength-based, team approach emphasizing family connections and community involvement is incorporated into all services.

School Based Services

FICS operates in partnership with multiple public schools and the Department of Mental Health. Clinical staff are stationed at elementary, middle, and high schools across both counties. Individual counseling, therapy, group treatment, and family therapy are provided at both schools and family’s homes. Medication evaluation and management is also provided by a psychiatrist and nurse, both at the office and in the community. Clients are referred either by the IEP Team, school personnel, or other community agencies.

Evidence-Based Practices

FICS identifies state of the art treatment practices that have demonstrated positive outcomes, based on empirical evidence. A variety of these practices are provided by certified staff, in order to meet clients’ unique treatment needs. Evidence Based Practices examples include skill development groups, parenting curricula, multi-family groups, and specialized therapy programs.
