Victor Community Support Services Grass Valley is located in picturesque Grass Valley nestled among the other Nevada County cities of Nevada City, Lake Wildwood, Rough & Ready, Alta Sierra, North San Juan, Lake of the Pines, Cedar Ridge and outlying rural areas. Approximately 100,000 people call Nevada County home. It is an area known for its pristine rivers, rolling valleys, beautiful mountains, four full seasons, an abundance of recreational possibilities and a wealth of cultural opportunities.

The purpose of Victor Community Support Services in Nevada County is to collaborate with community partners in the delivery of services that are necessary to allow children and their families to maximize their strengths and resources enabling them to thrive in the communities in which they live. The age range of youth served is 0-19 years of age. The youth served and their families are from all areas of Nevada County.

Victor services are provided in the homes, schools, and communities at times that are most convenient for families. The services emphasize a "wraparound" treatment philosophy and are highly individualized, flexible and tailored to the needs of each family Victor serves. Treatment services may include the following: Individual therapeutic services, Therapeutic family services, Weekly anger management, social skill building, and moral reasoning groups, drug and alcohol counseling, linkage to community resources, culturally competent services, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy groups, Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress, Therapeutic Behavioral Services, Seeking Safety, SB163 Wraparound Services, psychiatric evaluations, 0-5 services, and Juvenile Sex Offender treatment. Victor serves youth involved in the juvenile justice system, Nevada County Behavioral Health, Child Protective Services and Nevada County Schools.

The services of this site are provided by a staff that includes clinicians, Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialists, Family Support Counselors, and Family/Parent Partners. There are psychiatric services available and office support staff as well.

As an innovative program element, VCSS Grass Valley uses Equine Assisted Psychotherapy to build self-confidence, relationship building and responsibility. Also there are certified trainers for Teaching Pro Social Skills, 0 to 5 Services and Juvenile Sex Offender treatment. VCSS Grass Valley strives to bring innovative, science-based, and creative services to the children and families we serve and continue to update and add to our service delivery continuum.

The program is family driven and youth guided so that youth and families are integral partners and have the primary decision making role in service delivery systems. Services are individualized, flexible and tailored to the needs of each family served.

Since the program's inception in September, 2007 a total of 116 youth have been served. Staff use the nationally recognized Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths assessment tool to measure client improvement over the course of treatment, as well as to provide feedback to program managers regarding overall effectiveness of services. We are committed to continuous quality improvement and the delivery of excellent services to those we serve.
