This southern California program provides services to the Lake Elsinore community and the larger Riverside County region.
VCSS Lake Elsinore is a community based mental health treatment program serving both the Lake Elsinore community and the larger Riverside County. The program works in collaboration with multiple community organizations to improve quality of life and build individual and family strengths. In partnership with Riverside County Department of Mental Health, Lake Elsinore VCSS provides a full array of specialty mental health services to children and their families utilizing a strength based, family centered philosophy.
All Services Include: Assessment and Evaluation, Crisis Intervention and Stabilization, Multimodal Therapy, Parent Training and Support, Intensive Case Management, Rehabilitative Services, Psychiatric Services
Types of programs include:
- School/Home Based Mental Health, which includes Individual, Group, and Family Therapy, case management, rehabilitative services, and assessment in both school and home settings
- Family Assessment and Support Team (FAST) which includes Individual and Family Therapy, case management, rehabilitative services, and assessment. The FAST Program serves clients with severe acuity and works towards stabilization and coordination with other resources.
- School Based Group Therapy, which includes the provision of innovative group counseling in every school in the Lake Elsinore School District. This program makes available to students and their families easy access to much needed mental health and rehabilitation services.
- Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS). TBS is an intensive one to one mental health service that involves coaches (mental health professionals) providing support to children/youth with serious emotional problems who are experiencing stressful situations.
- Parent Child Interaction Therapy which is a collaborative project with First 5 to provide parenting skills and support to those families with young children between the ages of 0-5 years.
VCSS Lake Elsinore maintains a favorable staff to client ratio that allows for treatment contact to be tailored to each client's particular needs. We take a team approach that includes Psychiatrists, Clinicians, Rehabilitative Specialists and Coaches working together to help each client achieve their goals.
As an indication of its commitment to innovation and service excellence, VCSS Lake Elsinore has been identified by Riverside County Mental Health as an "Innovative Program" and asked to speak at County Board of Director's Meetings.
Initial data collected from the school based program has shown a reduction in referrals to the school office and increased academic performance. VCSS Lake Elsinore utilizes the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths assessment tool for the purpose of tracking treatment progress as well as a tool to provide feedback to the program regarding overall effectiveness and quality of services provided.
