Victor Treatment Centers Santa Rosa is located in the scenic Sonoma County, surrounded by beautiful rolling hills covered with vineyards and other agricultural acreage. The city of Santa Rosa is a thriving community with many civic activities, events, and governmental resources. Our program provides Intensive Residential Treatment & Day Intensive Treatment services for mentally ill adolescents who otherwise would require more restrictive and costly care in a state hospital setting or some other intensively supervised setting. Most of the children and adolescents who come to our treatment facility have experienced multiple placement failures and are the most resistive to treatment. The primary objective is for each youth to reach his/her optimal level of functioning and return to their family or other appropriate less restrictive setting in the community.

Persons referred to this program are ages 6 through 18 years of age, who are so emotionally and behaviorally disturbed as to warrant 24-hour psychiatric treatment away from their own homes. This population includes but is not limited to children who have a disturbed ability to function at their intellectual and chronological maturity level; those who have been diagnosed as needing treatment over a long period of time for behavior which has resulted from specific, serious emotional disorder of psychosis.

All residential referrals to Victor Treatment Centers Santa Rosa must be processed through and approved by the County's Mental Health and School District services. Final admission decisions rest with Victor Treatment Centers. If admission is denied, Victor Treatment Center notifies the referring county of the denial within ten working days. When possible, the denial includes recommendations for alternative treatment.

Our residential treatment program offers a high staff to client ratio in a home-like environment where teamwork is essential to everyday living. Our highly trained licensed clinical staff, psychiatrist, and residential counselors follow an individualized treatment plan to assure a successful experience. Individual group and family therapy is provided as part of the structure of the program. The residential setting is specifically designed to encourage community involvement and independent living skills. Medication Support is a component of our program services and residents accessing these services are closely followed by a staff or contracted psychiatrist 24 hours, seven days a week. Staff are trained to pass and monitor all medications.

The Day Intensive Program integrates a comprehensive special education program with an intensive mental health treatment component within the setting of the North Valley Schools state certified non-public school. The Day Treatment team consists of a licensed psychiatrist, mental health clinicians and day treatment counselors working as a team with special education credentialed teachers and instructional aides. The team provides a positive school experience and comprehensive mental health and psycho educational curriculum.

All residents of the Victor Treatment Centers Santa Rosa program have access to our highly developed Independent Living Skills Program. Services are designed to assist the children and youth in developing independent living skills that will support their transition to lower levels of care and back into family and community settings. The program emphasizes those components that will assist the participants in developing all skills necessary to allow for responsible citizenry. Specifically, this is accomplished by the following elements: Assessing community resources; securing housing; exploring and securing employment opportunities; budgeting; and healthful living skills.
